Military-Friendly Schools in the Country
(San Jose, CA, August 20, 2009) G.I. Jobs magazine has
selected Henley-Putnam University as among the top
military-friendly schools in the country. The list,
which will be published in September, honors the top 15
percent of more than 7,000 colleges, universities and
trade schools with programs that best support military
students.
Henley-Putnam Universitys programs are specifically
designed to serve the military professional seeking
advancement, said Michael Corcoran, PhD, Henley-Putnam
University president and former U.S. Secret Service
agent. We are honored to be on this distinguished list
of American universities committed to creating
opportunities for service members.
According to G.I. Jobs, the 2010 Military-Friendly list
was compiled by a committee of educators and college
administrators through a comprehensive survey of more
than 7,000 schools nationwide. Schools were carefully
evaluated based on their certifications, programs,
policies and other efforts to recruit and retain
military and veteran students, as well their success in
recruiting military students and academic
accreditations.
Henley-Putnam University is approved for use of Veteran
benefits and supported by DANTES, the American
military's off-duty voluntary education program. The
University is a member of Servicemembers Opportunity
Colleges (SOC) Consortium, the American Council on
Education (ACE) and the Council of College and Military
Educators (CCME). Henley-Putnam works with military
students to give them allowable credit for their
education and training through challenge, ACE credit
recommendations, experiential learning and transfer
credit.
Henley-Putnam's faculty is comprised of seasoned
professionals with extensive hands-on experience in
military, law enforcement, counterterrorism and
intelligence. The University offers a mentoring program
that pairs students with professionals from all areas of
the strategic security world to usher them through the
